Tamil Nadu joining hands with Toofan; Vijay along with Mohanlal to say ‘no’ to drugs in Kochi

KOCHI: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has promised full support for 'Operation Toofan', an anti-narcotics campaign. Chennithala met Vijay in Chennai Wednesday morning at 11.30 am. The home minister informed the support at the press meet convened after this. The discussion lasted for half an hour and the minister said that Tamil Nadu will cooperate in Operation Toofan.

Search will be intensified on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The police forces of both the states will join hands to crack down on the drug mafia. Vijay has been invited to participate in the event being organized in Kochi with Mohanlal, the brand ambassador of Operation Toofan in Kerala. Chennithala also said that Vijay has expressed his interest in attending the event. The home minister also mentioned the name of the Tamil superhit film 'Jilla', in which Mohanlal and Vijay acted together. Chennithala had also met Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar in Bengaluru last week.

The home department's anti-narcotics campaign 'Operation Toofan' is gaining momentum in collaboration with the southern Indian states. The home minister has informed that the operation will be in collaboration with the police and central agencies of the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry. Police top brass from the five states were invited to Thiruvananthapuram to ensure coordination and participation. Police top brass from other states, who praised 'Operation Toofan' for making a splash in other states as well, have promised all support to Toofan.
