KOCHI: A victim of a POCSO case went missing from Edathala in Aluva. The 16-year-old girl went missing from a women’s religious school. The girl was found missing from 6 pm on Saturday. The police suspect that the girl may have gone with the 19-year-old accused in the POCSO case.
The girl’s family shifted to Aluva from Kollam Karunagapally. More than 60 students are studying in the school. When she was found missing, the school authorities informed the police. The family then filed a complaint. More information emerged when the police investigation was going on.
The girl, who left the school, reached Aluva railway station in an auto from Edathala. She then called someone using the auto driver’s phone. Based on the information provided by the auto driver, the police checked the phone number and confirmed that it belonged to the 19-year-old accused in the case. This led the police to conclude that the girl may have gone with the accused of Kayamkulam. However, information has also emerged that the girl boarded a train bound for Kozhikode. However, there is no clarity on it. The police are trying to collect CCTV footage from the railway station and its surroundings.
The investigation is being conducted focusing on the phone number. The girl's photo has been sent to other police stations and the railway police. The girl of Karunagappally and her family moved to Edathala three months ago following the case.
