'Pookie' CM impresses Gen Z fanbase with big announcements

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The maiden budget of VD Satheesan, fondly known as the 'Pookie Chief Minister', also considered the GenZ population. Gen Z are the fastest to adopt and utilise the advancements in the fields of robotics, data science, Internet of Things (IoT), and virtual reality (VR).

The creative talents and technical excellence of the young generation will be brought together to develop startups, innovation hubs, research centres, and smart industries. 50 crores have been allocated in the budget as the main driving force of the future economy and industries. The announcements in the technology sector in the budget were announced keeping Gen Z in mind. Rs 205.18 crores have been announced for scientific services and research.

• Research institutes with an emphasis on satellite technology will be started.

• Incentives will be given to private satellite manufacturing/launching institutes. Land will be made available for them. Five crores for the activities of the Space Park.

• Kozhikode Cyber ​​Park will be upgraded to the standards of Kochi Info Park and Thiruvananthapuram Technopark

• Reorganisation will be done in such a way that research activities will be given priority in scientific and technological institutes.

• 25 crores for the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Scientific Temper project

Space will be provided at the proposed MT Cultural Park to screen short films and documentaries and to conduct cultural events.
