THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister VD Satheesan will release the much-awaited Thiruvonam bumper lottery ticket tomorrow. The Thiruvonam bumper lottery ticket of the Lottery Department will be released by Chief Minister VD Satheesan on July 16.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Tax Department K. R. Jyotilal, Director of the Lottery Department Anju K. S, Additional Directors Shaju P. A, Anil Kumar K. S, and others will be present at the function to be held at the Chief Minister's Office Chamber.
This year's Thiruvonam bumper lottery comes with a first prize of Rs 30 crore, the biggest amount in the history of Kerala's Lottery Department. One crore will be given to 20 people as second prizes.
The third prize is Rs 25 lakh each for 20 people, the fourth prize is Rs 5 lakh each for 10 people, the fifth prize is Rs 2 lakh each for 10 people, and prizes ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 500 are also included. The agent who sells the first prize ticket will also be given an agency prize of Rs three crore.
The ticket price is Rs 500. Ticket sales will start on Monday. Only printed paper lottery tickets can be purchased directly from authorised agents or sellers. There will be no sales through social media platforms or digital payment links. The draw will be held on September 26.
